The technology used in QKIE

The technology combines a proprietary chemical additive with an emulsion unit – a dedicated piece of equipment in which water and fuel are finely mixed under high-shear and cavitation conditions. The mixture is then processed by a specialized pressurizing centrifugal pump that further disperses the phases and promotes a high level of emulsification. The result is a stable, homogeneous water-in-diesel emulsion, in which water is finely dispersed and each water droplet is surrounded by fuel.

When produced and used within the specified operating window, this emulsion can reduce selected emissions compared with standard diesel while delivering comparable engine performance in the applications tested, making it a commercially viable transition fuel for suitable diesel engines and boilers.
